Samdech Preah Mahessara and Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Som Ol holding a talk during the presentation of the donation of Their Majesties at the Head Office of the Foundation

On 27 August 2008, Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Som Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, went to the Headquarters of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation to officially present H. R. H. Samdech Preah Mahessara, the President of the Foundation, with adonation of USD 2,000 generously donated by His Majesty King NORODOM Sihamoni as well as another donation of USD 1,000 generously donated by His Majesty the King Father NORODOM Sihanouk.

Le 29 août, Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Som Ol, Vice-Premier Ministre et Ministre du Palais Royal, s’est rendu au siège de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong pour remettre officiellement à S. A. R. Samdech Preah Mahessara NORODOM Chakrapong un don de 2000 USD généreusement offert par Sa Majesté le Roi NORODOM Sihamoni et un don de 1000 USD généreusement offert par Sa Majesté le Roi-Père NORODOM Sihanouk.

During the meeting, Samdech Preah Mahessara detailed the activities of the Foundation to Samdech Chauvean Veang and requested the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace, to convey his most respectful gratitude to Their Majesties for Their continuous support to the Foundation.

Durant la cérémonie officielle de remise des dons de Leurs Majestés, Samdech Preah Mahessara a présenté en détail au Vice Premier Ministre, Ministre du Palais, les activités de la Fondation et lui a fait part des projets à venir. Samdech Preah Mahessara a chargé Samdech Chauvea Veang de transmettre ses très déférents remerciements à Leurs Majestés le Roi et le Roi-Père pour avoir ainsi daigné soutenir l’activité de la Fondation.

Samdech Preah Mahessara insisted that the donations from the Royal Palace were tremendously encouraging for the Foundation and himself and that he and all the Foundation’s staff would work tirelessly to fulfill the royal expectations they have been honored with.

Samdech Preah Mahessara a particulièrement insisté sur l’immense encouragement que représentent ces dons du Palais Royal pour la Fondation et a assuré Samdech Chauvea Veang que lui-même et tous les employés de la Fondation travailleront sans relâche pour être à la hauteur de l’attention royale dont ils ont ainsi le grand honneur de faire l’objet.

Thanks to the most charitable donations of the Their Majesties, the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation will be able to print more textbooks to be distributed to the pupils of poor schools in rural areas.

Grâce aux généreuses contributions de Leurs Majestés, la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong pourra financer l’impression de livres scolaires supplémentaires qui seront distribués aux enfants des écoles déshéritées de province.

On 16 September 2008, HRH Samdech Preah Mahessara NORODOM Chakrapong, the President of the Foundation, gave an audience to Mr. Sok Aun, the Governor of Sangkat Kraing Yov, and Mr. Pich Boran, the Principal of Wat Phnom Tum Pek Primary School at the Foundation’s Head Office. The talk was conducted in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere with the exchanges of ideas on the humanitarian work. In the meantime, the Governor of Sangkat Kraing Yov and the Principal of Wat Phnom Tum Pek Primary School kindly requested Samdech President help provide course books for level 1, 2, and 3 for Primary School students to his school. In response, Samdech Preah Mahessara, the President, agreed to the request and promised to travel with the Foundation working team to the school and provide the course books there at the spot at an appropriate time, some time in October 2008.

Le 16 septembre 2008, le Président de la Fondation, S. A. R. Samdech Preah Mahessara NORODOM Chakrapong, a reçu M. Sok Aun, Gouverneur du Sangkat Kraing Yov, et M. Pich Boran, Directeur de l’école primaire Wat Phnom Tum Pek, au siège de la Fondation. Au cours de la discussion, qui s’est déroulée dans une atmosphère aimable et harmonieuse, S. A. R. Samdech Preah Mahessara et ses invités ont échangé leurs points de vue sur les questions d’assistance humanitaire et caritative. A cette occasion, le Gouverneur du Sangkat Kraing Yov et le Directeur de l’école primaire Wat Phnom Tum Pek ont sollicité l’aide du Président de la Fondation pour offrir aux élèves de l’école des livres scolaires des niveaux 1, 2 et 3. Samdech Preah Mohessara a favorablement accueilli la requête et a promis de se rendre sur place avec l’équipe de la Fondation pour distribuer les livres aux élèves, à une date appropriée, au cours du mois d’octobre prochain.

A new computer class with the capacity of 16 students

In response to the increasing number of students enrolling to study computer skill, the Foundation, with the computer sets donated by the German Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, has enlarged its capacity to accommodate 16 students per session, which it previously could accept only 10 students.

Pour accueillir le nombre croissant d’étudiants souhaitant étudier l’informatique, la Fondation a pu, grâce aux ordinateurs généreusement offerts par l’Ambassadeur d’Allemagne, élargir ses capacités d’accueil à 16 étudiants par classe alors qu’elle devait précédemment se limiter à dix seulement.

The three computer classes with 16 students in each are now in smooth operation. The two weekday classes run from 2:00 to 3:00 PM and from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The weekend class starts from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Therefore, the total number of the students studying computer skill is 48.

Les trois classes d’informatiques de 16 étudiants chacune fonctionnent désormais normalement. Les deux classes ayant lieu en semaine se tiennent de 14h00 à 15h00 et de 15h00 à 16h00 tandis que la classe du week-end se tient de 15h00 à 16h00. C’est donc un total de 48 élèves qui bénéficie à présent des enseignements en informatique offerts par Fondation.

In addition to the computer classes, one English class was also opened on the 1st August 2008 and 15 students have been attending the course. Moreover, since there is a high demand for English class, the Foundation is planning to offer two more new English classes on 1st October 2008 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and weekend class from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, , and 30 more students are expected to attend the course.

Outre les classes d’informatiques, une classe d’anglais à laquelle ont assisté 15 étudiants a également été inaugurée le 1er août 2008. Etant donnée la forte demande de cours d’anglais, la Fondation a l’intention d’ouvrir deux classes supplémentaires le 1er octobre, en semaine de 17h30 à 18h30 et le week-end de 16h00 à 17h00. La Fondation se prépare ainsi à accueillir 30 étudiants supplémentaires pour les cours d’anglais.
