On 30 May 2010, The Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation answered to more school’s call for support: Wat Kbal O’ Primary School, located nearby the district of Oudong, in the province of Kompong Speu where the Foundation is already very active, and Trapeang Thmor Primary School, located in the district of Samaki Meanchey, in Kompong Chhnang province where the Foundation is now extending its outreach.
Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong therefore took his team on a longer trip than usual, going all the way to Kompong Chhnang in order to bring support to Trapeang Thom Primary School. The school’s director had indeed sent a letter to the Prince who then obtained the agreement of local authorities for the Foundation to intervene in this province.
Upon their arrival, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation and his received the customary warm welcome from the director, teachers and students of each school who were overjoyed to know that their turn had come to benefit from Samdech Preah Mohessara’s support.
Then, the tradition meeting took place during which the director and the teachers exposed the state and needs of their school to the President of the Foundation. In each school, the director expressed his vibrant gratitude to Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong for the support generously provided by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation while listing the difficulties and obstacles that still hamper everyday teaching in rural areas, despite the important progress promoted by the Royal Government since peace returned to the country.
After the meeting, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation proceeded to the distribution of 440 textbooks in each school, each time donating full sets of manuals covering all 6 years of primary school. The young pupils received these donations with joy, to the great satisfaction of the teachers who were glad to see that learning conditions in their classes would thus be largely improved. All expressed their grateful appreciation to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation and to its President for supporting education in rural areas and for helping them to fight against school failure amongst the pupils.
In Wat Kbal O’ Primary School, the director then invited Samdech Preah Mohessara to visit the vegetable garden while briefing him about the school’s needs in this regard. The President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation took note and promised to study the new requests formulated by the school’s director and to try to answer these within the limit of the Foundation’s possibilities.
After this long but fruitful day, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team left to return to Phnom Penh, leaving their hosts with the certitude that the coming year would start in better conditions than the one that ending.
Le 30 mai 2010, la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a répondu à l’appel de deux nouveaux établissements scolaires : l’école primaire Vat Kbal O’, situé dans le district d’Oudong de la province de Kompong Speu où la Fondation est déjà très présente, et l’école primaire Trapeang Thmor, située dans le district de Samaki Meanchey de la province de Kompong Chhnang où la Fondation étend à présent son rayon d’action.
C’est donc pour un voyage plus long que d’habitude que Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe se sont embarqués, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong ayant décidé d’apporter son soutien à l’école Trapeang Thmor de Kompong Chhnang. Le directeur de cet établissement avait en effet adressé une demande d’aide au Prince NORODOM Chakrapong à laquelle celui-ci a accepté de répondre, après avoir obtenu l’aval des autorités locales.
Une fois arrivé sur place, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et son équipe ont comme de coutume été chaleureusement accueillis par le directeur, les enseignants et les élèves de chaque établissement, heureux de pouvoir à leur tour bénéficier de l’appui de Samdech Preah Mohessara.
Le directeur a ensuite invité le Président de la Fondation à participer à la traditionnelle réunion d’information au cours de laquelle les enseignants ont exposé l’état général et les besoins particuliers de leur école. Le directeur de chaque établissement a vivement remercié Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong du généreux soutien apporté par la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong, énumérant les difficultés auxquelles l’enseignement en zone rurale doit encore faire face, en dépit des nombreux progrès enregistrés grâce aux efforts du Gouvernement Royal depuis le retour de la paix.
Le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a ensuite procédé à la distribution de 440 manuels scolaires dans chaque établissement, couvrant toutes les matières des 6 années du cycle primaire. C’est avec joie que les élèves ont reçu ces ouvrages, sous le regard satisfait de leurs instituteurs dont l’enseignement sera ainsi considérablement facilité. Tous ont exprimé leur profonde reconnaissance à la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et à son Président pour leur soutien à l’éducation en milieu rural qui permet de renforcer la lutte contre l’échec scolaire.
Après la distribution des manuels scolaires, le directeur de l’école primaire Vat Kbal O’ a invité Samdech Preah Mohessara à visiter le jardin potager de l’établissement tout en l’informant des besoins spécifiques de l’école à cet égard. Le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a promis d’étudier avec attention les nouvelles requêtes formulées par le directeur de l’établissement et d’y répondre dans la mesure des moyens de la Fondation.
A l’issue de cette longue mais fructueuse journée, Samdech Preah Mohessara et son équipe ont repris le chemin de Phnom Penh, salués par des hôtes ayant acquis la certitude que la prochaine scolaire commencera dans de meilleures conditions que celle qui s’achève.
