The Norodom Racvivong Foundation

On 25 August 2010, a ceremony was organized at the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s headquarters to the deliver their certificates to 36 students of the sixth promotion of computer class.

For about three months, these students coming not only from Phnom Penh but also from provinces such as Ta Keo, Prey Veng, Kompong Cham, Kompong Speu and Kandal, participated in daily training courses freely provided by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation in order to enable them to understand and work with computers. Thus, the students had the possibility to develop their skills and become more competitive when looking for a job or simply more efficient in their studies.

During the ceremony presided over by Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation, the computer class’ teacher started by presenting a report on the organization of the class, recalling the number of students, the class’ curriculum and the courses’ general conditions.

Then, a representative designated by all students read a statement expressing their very deep gratitude to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation, especially to its President Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, for having generously offered them the possibility to acquire computer skills without having to pay for it. Indeed, as they usually come from rather poor families, these students do not have the financial possibility to afford private computer classes whereas computer skills have become increasingly necessary to succeed in higher studies or to find a job in our modern society.

After having carefully listened to the teacher’s report and to the statement of the student’s representative, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong made his own allocution to thank the former for this dedication to training the Cambodian youth and to congratulate the latter for the efforts they made to complete their studies. The President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation especially encouraged students to further strive to increase their skills and knowledge in order to be able to secure a dignified future and a place in society.

Thereafter, while the students were gratefully applauding, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong personally handed each student hand with a certificate, attesting their successful studies.

Eventually, the President of Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation invited the young students to take a souvenir picture with him and their teacher, thus officially closing a learning session which has benefited to almost 40 poor students living in Phnom Penh

Le 25 août 2010, une cérémonie a été organisée au siège de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong à l’occasion de la remise de leurs certificats de fin d’étude aux 36 élèves de la sixième promotion de classe informatique.

Durant environ un trimestre, ces élèves venus non seulement de Phnom Penh mais aussi de diverses provinces du Cambodge, en particulier Ta Keo, Prey Veng, Kompong Cham, Kompong Speu et Kandal ont suivi quotidiennement un enseignement gratuit offert par la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong les familiarisant avec l’outil informatique. De la sorte, ils auront pu renforcer leurs compétences afin d’accroître leurs chances d’obtenir un emploi à l’avenir ou simplement pour faciliter leurs études actuelles.

Au cours de la cérémonie présidée par Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong, l’enseignant de la Fondation chargé des classes informatique a tout d’abord fait rapport du déroulement des cours au cours du trimestre écoulé, rappelant notamment le nombre d’élèves, le contenu des cours et les conditions générales d’enseignement.

Ensuite, par l’intermédiaire d’un représentant choisi parmi eux, les élèves ont exprimé leur très profonde reconnaissance à la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et en particulier à son Président Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, pour leur avoir offert la possibilité d’acquérir gratuitement des connaissances informatiques devenues nécessaires dans la société moderne. Issus de milieux généralement modestes, ces étudiants n’ont en effet pas la possibilité financière de s’offrir des cours privés d’informatique alors que la maîtrise de cet outil est devenue extrêmement importante tant pour mener à terme des études universitaires que pour rechercher un emploi.

Après avoir écouté avec attention le rapport de l’enseignant et l’allocution du représentant des élèves, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong a à son tour pris la parole pour remercier le premier de son dévouement à la formation des jeunes Cambodgiens et pour féliciter les seconds des efforts qu’ils ont déployé pour compléter leur cycle d’étude. Le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a notamment encouragé les étudiants à ne pas ménager leurs efforts pour accroître leurs connaissances afin de pouvoir s’assurer un avenir et une place digne au sein de la société.

Salué par des applaudissements reconnaissants, Samdech NORODOM Chakrapong a ensuite personnellement remis à chacun des élèves un certificat de fin d’études attestant des connaissances acquises.

Enfin, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a invité les élèves à prendre une photo souvenir avec leur enseignant, consacrant ainsi la fin d’un cycle d’étude qui aura profité à près de quarante étudiants pauvres vivant dans la capitale.
