Distribution of textbooks at Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School

On 30 October 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team paid a visit to Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School, located in Baty district, Ta Keo province, in order to hand out textbooks, thus answering a request made by the school to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation.

For this first visit in the Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong and his collaborators were greeted by numerous students as well as by the director and teachers who all welcomed them.

As usual, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation started by discussing the state of the school with his hosts before proceeding with the distribution of textbooks. The Prince thus handed out to the students a total of 440 textbooks including: 120 manuals of Khmer language covering Primary School Year 1 to Year 6; 120 manuals of mathematics for Primary School Year 1 to Year 6; 120 manuals of social studies for Primary School Year 3 to Year 6; 80 manuals of sciences for Primary School Year 3 to Year 6; 20 manuals of social studies and applied sciences for Primary School Year 1 and 20 manuals of social studies and applied sciences for Primary School Year 2.

The young students joyfully received these textbooks from Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong who thereafter agreed to stand amongst the director, the teachers and students of Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School for the traditional photography session.

Concluding the visit, the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation team bade farewell to their hosts and left to return to Phnom Penh.

Donation of a water pump to the Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School

On 8 November 2010, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha, representing Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, undertook a mission to the Kompong Speu province in order to donate to Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School a water pump offered by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation.

The Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School has been supported for the past two years by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation which has donated more than 700 textbooks to the school since 2008. Thanks to this latest contribution which answered a request made by the director and teachers during an earlier visit by Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, the school will able to better manage its water, a rare but necessary resource in rural areas.

When receiving the water pump from the representative of Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, the school’s director expressed his deep appreciation for the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s support over the past two years.

Le 30 octobre 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe ont rendu visite à l’école primaire Hun Sen Prey Chea située dans la province de Ta Keo (district de Baty) pour y effectuer une distribution de manuels scolaires, répondant ainsi à une demandée déposée par l’établissement auprès de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong.

Pour leur première visite dans cet établissement, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et ses collaborateurs ont été accueilli par de nombreux élèves venus leur souhaiter la bienvenue en compagnie de leur directeur et des enseignants.

Comme à son habitude, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a d’abord discuté avec ses hôtes des la situation générale de l’établissement avant de procéder à la distribution de manuels scolaires. Le Prince a ainsi remis aux élèves un total de 440 manuels scolaires couvrant les besoins de l’écoles en matière d’enseignement primaire soit : 120 manuels de langue khmères de la 1ère à la 6ème année, 120 manuels de mathématiques de la 1ère à la 6ème année, 120 manuels d’études sociales de la 3ème à la 6ème année, 80 manuels de sciences de la 3ème à la 6ème année, 20 manuels d’études sociales et de sciences appliquées de 1ère année et 20 manuels d’études sociales et de sciences appliquées de 2ème année.

C’est avec grande joie que les élèves ont reçu ces manuels des mains de Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, lequel s’est ensuite prêté à la traditionnelle séance de photo souvenir entouré des nombreux élèves, du directeur et des enseignants de l’école primaire Hun Sen Prey Chea.

A l’issue de la visite, l’équipe de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a repris le chemin de la capitale après avoir pris congé de ses hôtes reconnaissants.

Don d’une motopompe à l’école primaire Hun Sen Veang Chas

Le 8 novembre 2010, M. Nhem Sambath Sokha, représentant de Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, a effectué une mission dans la province de Kompong Speu pour remettre à l’école Hun Sen Veang Chas une motopompe offerte par la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong.

L’école primaire Hun Sen Veang Chas bénéficie depuis deux ans du soutien de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong qui lui a déjà fourni plus de 700 manuels scolaires. Avec cette nouvelle donation, qui répond à une demande formulée par le directeur et ses enseignants lors d’une précédente visite, l’école pourra mieux gérer son utilisation de l’eau, une denrée rare et nécessaire en zone rurale.

Recevant la motopompe des mains du représentant de Samdech Preah Mohessara, le directeur de l’établissement a exprimé sa très profonde reconnaissance à la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong pour son soutien constant au cours des deux dernières années.

Le 25 Septembre 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et l’équipe de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong se sont rendus dans deux établissements scolaires de la province de Ta Keo : l’école primaire Cham Poul et l’école primaire Prey Chour.

Comme à son habitude, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a effectué le déplacement à la fois pour apporter un soutien moral et matériel aux deux écoles et pour comprendre leur situation respective et les difficultés rencontrées au quotidien par les enseignants comme les élèves.

Dans chaque école, Samdech Preah Mohessara et son équipe ont été chaleureusement accueilli par le chef d’établissement ainsi que par les élèves et enseignants, tous étant honorés par la visite du Prince et chacun se réjouissant à la perspective de la distribution de manuels scolaires annoncée par la Fondation.

Suivant un programme désormais bien établi, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong s’est ensuite entretenu avec ses hôtes, dans la salle de réunion de chaque établissement. Il a ainsi écouté avec attention les exposés des directeurs avant d’engager le dialogue avec les enseignants et d’encourager les élèves à s’efforcer de progresser dans leurs études. Le Prince a ensuite visité l’ensemble de chaque établissement, guidé par le directeur et les enseignants avec lesquels il a continué de s’entretenir en plein air.

Dans une ambiance bonne enfant, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a ensuite procédé à la distribution des manuels scolaires, remettant un total de 440 livres aux élèves de chaque établissement. Les enfants comme leurs enseignants et leurs directeurs ont exprimé leur très profonde gratitude pour ces donations qui permettront d’améliorer considérablement les conditions d’enseignement dans des établissements situés en zones rurales où le ratio de livres par étudiant reste très défavorable.

Clôturant sa visite, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong s’est enfin prêté de bon cœur à la traditionnelle session de photo souvenir, posant parmi ses hôtes pour la plus grande joie des élèves, ravis d’avoir désormais chacun leur manuel scolaire.

A l’issue de cette mission fructueuse, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe ont pris congé de leurs hôtes reconnaissants pour reprendre la route de Phnom Penh.

On 25 September 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s team traveled to the province of Ta Keo in order to visit two schools: Cham Poul Primary School and Prey Chour Primary School.

As usual, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong undertook this visit not only to bring moral and material support to the schools but also to better understand their respective situations and the difficulties that their teachers and pupils have to have face on a daily basis.

In each school, Samdech Preah Mohessara and his team were warmly welcome by the director, the teachers and their students. All felt honored by the Prince’s visit while each and every one was expecting with enjoyment the distribution of textbooks announced by the Foundation.

Following the usual schedule, Samdech Preah Mohessara then took the time to meet and discuss with his hosts in the meeting room of each school. He started by carefully listening to the directors’ presentation of their school before conversing with the teachers while encouraging the children to dedicate time and efforts to their studies. The Prince then visited each school’s compound, guided by the director with whom he kept discussing all along the way.

Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong then proceeded with the distribution of textbooks, personally handing 440 books to the children of each primary school in a cheerful atmosphere. The children, their teachers and their directors expressed their very deep gratitude for these donations which will allow a strong improvement of the teaching conditions in these rural schools where the ration of book per child remains very low.

In each school, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong ended his visit by benevolently participating in the traditional photo session, standing amongst his host including overjoyed students who were delighted as they would from now own possess their own textbooks.

At the end of this fruitful mission, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team bade farewell to their grateful hosts and went back to Phnom Penh.

On 25 August 2010, a ceremony was organized at the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s headquarters to the deliver their certificates to 36 students of the sixth promotion of computer class.

For about three months, these students coming not only from Phnom Penh but also from provinces such as Ta Keo, Prey Veng, Kompong Cham, Kompong Speu and Kandal, participated in daily training courses freely provided by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation in order to enable them to understand and work with computers. Thus, the students had the possibility to develop their skills and become more competitive when looking for a job or simply more efficient in their studies.

During the ceremony presided over by Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation, the computer class’ teacher started by presenting a report on the organization of the class, recalling the number of students, the class’ curriculum and the courses’ general conditions.

Then, a representative designated by all students read a statement expressing their very deep gratitude to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation, especially to its President Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, for having generously offered them the possibility to acquire computer skills without having to pay for it. Indeed, as they usually come from rather poor families, these students do not have the financial possibility to afford private computer classes whereas computer skills have become increasingly necessary to succeed in higher studies or to find a job in our modern society.

After having carefully listened to the teacher’s report and to the statement of the student’s representative, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong made his own allocution to thank the former for this dedication to training the Cambodian youth and to congratulate the latter for the efforts they made to complete their studies. The President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation especially encouraged students to further strive to increase their skills and knowledge in order to be able to secure a dignified future and a place in society.

Thereafter, while the students were gratefully applauding, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong personally handed each student hand with a certificate, attesting their successful studies.

Eventually, the President of Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation invited the young students to take a souvenir picture with him and their teacher, thus officially closing a learning session which has benefited to almost 40 poor students living in Phnom Penh

Le 25 août 2010, une cérémonie a été organisée au siège de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong à l’occasion de la remise de leurs certificats de fin d’étude aux 36 élèves de la sixième promotion de classe informatique.

Durant environ un trimestre, ces élèves venus non seulement de Phnom Penh mais aussi de diverses provinces du Cambodge, en particulier Ta Keo, Prey Veng, Kompong Cham, Kompong Speu et Kandal ont suivi quotidiennement un enseignement gratuit offert par la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong les familiarisant avec l’outil informatique. De la sorte, ils auront pu renforcer leurs compétences afin d’accroître leurs chances d’obtenir un emploi à l’avenir ou simplement pour faciliter leurs études actuelles.

Au cours de la cérémonie présidée par Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong, l’enseignant de la Fondation chargé des classes informatique a tout d’abord fait rapport du déroulement des cours au cours du trimestre écoulé, rappelant notamment le nombre d’élèves, le contenu des cours et les conditions générales d’enseignement.

Ensuite, par l’intermédiaire d’un représentant choisi parmi eux, les élèves ont exprimé leur très profonde reconnaissance à la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et en particulier à son Président Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, pour leur avoir offert la possibilité d’acquérir gratuitement des connaissances informatiques devenues nécessaires dans la société moderne. Issus de milieux généralement modestes, ces étudiants n’ont en effet pas la possibilité financière de s’offrir des cours privés d’informatique alors que la maîtrise de cet outil est devenue extrêmement importante tant pour mener à terme des études universitaires que pour rechercher un emploi.

Après avoir écouté avec attention le rapport de l’enseignant et l’allocution du représentant des élèves, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong a à son tour pris la parole pour remercier le premier de son dévouement à la formation des jeunes Cambodgiens et pour féliciter les seconds des efforts qu’ils ont déployé pour compléter leur cycle d’étude. Le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a notamment encouragé les étudiants à ne pas ménager leurs efforts pour accroître leurs connaissances afin de pouvoir s’assurer un avenir et une place digne au sein de la société.

Salué par des applaudissements reconnaissants, Samdech NORODOM Chakrapong a ensuite personnellement remis à chacun des élèves un certificat de fin d’études attestant des connaissances acquises.

Enfin, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a invité les élèves à prendre une photo souvenir avec leur enseignant, consacrant ainsi la fin d’un cycle d’étude qui aura profité à près de quarante étudiants pauvres vivant dans la capitale.
