Distribution of text books to Ang Saath primary school

On 3-12-2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s team undertook yet another trip to Ta Keo province in order to bring support to Ang Saath primary school.

Ang Saath primary school is the 8th school located in Ta Keo province to receive support from the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation which, as a result, has become increasingly known and appreciated in the area. Thus upon arriving in the school, Samdech Preah Mohessara and his team were warmly welcome by the students, the teachers and the director.

On the occasion of this visit, Samdech Preah Mohessara handed a total of 440 text books to Ang Saath primary school, including: 120 Khmer text books and 120 Mathematics text books covering all 6 year of the primary cycle; 80 manuals of social sciences and 80 manuals of applied sciences covering the last 3 years of the primary cycle; 20 manuals of social and applied sciences for Primary Year 1 and 20 more for Primary Year 2.

During the usual handover ceremony organized by the director and the teachers, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation personally distributed the textbooks to the school’s pupils who were overjoyed by this unexpected opportunity to have their own book for the year. Too often indeed, rural schools one textbook has to be shared amongst 4 or 5 students, a major cause of school failure amongst the youth.

After the ceremony, the director of Ang Saath primary school invited the Foundation’s team to visit the school’s premises, especially the vegetable garden for which Samdech Preah Mohessara promised to look for possible further support, in a way similar to what he has done for other schools in the province.

Before leaving to return to Phnom Penh, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team participated in the traditional photography session and promised their host they would do their best to come back as soon as possible.

Le 3-12-2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et l’équipe de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong ont effectué un nouveau déplacement dans la province de Ta Keo pour y apporter leur soutien à l’école primaire Ang Saath.

L’école primaire Ang Saath est le huitième établissement de la province de Ta Keo à bénéficier de l’appui de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong, désormais bien connue et très appréciée dans la région. Ainsi Samdech Preah Mohessara et son équipe ont-ils été chaleureusement accueillis à leur arrivée, tant par les élèves que par les enseignants et le directeur de l’établissement.

C’est un total de 440 manuels scolaires que Samdech Preah Mohessara a cette fois offert à l’école primaire Ang Saath, soit 120 manuels de Khmer et 120 manuels de Mathématiques couvrant les 6 années du cycle primaire ; 80 manuels de sciences sociales et 80 manuels de sciences appliquées couvrant les 3 dernières années du cycle primaire ; 20 manuels de sciences sociales et appliquées de 2ème année du cycle primaire et 20 autres de deuxième année.

Au cours de la désormais traditionnelle cérémonie organisée à cet effet par le directeur et le corps enseignant, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a personnellement remis les manuels aux élèves heureux de la chance inespérée qui leur a ainsi été offerte d’avoir chacun leur manuel. Trop souvent en effet, les écoles rurales ne disposent que d’un manuel pour 4 ou 5 élèves, ce qui constitue un facteur déterminant du taux d’échec scolaire.

A l’issue de la cérémonie de distribution, le directeur de l’école primaire Ang Saath a fait visiter l’établissement à l’équipe de la Fondation, en particulier le jardin potager pour lequel Samdech Preah Mohessara a promis d’étudier la possibilité d’une aide supplémentaire, du même type que celle accordée aux jardins potagers des autres écoles de la province.

Achevant leur visite par l’inévitable photo souvenir, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe ont enfin repris le chemin de la capitale, non sans promettre à leurs hôtes de revenir dès que possible.

Don d’outils de jardinage à l’école primaire Kbal O

On 14-12-2010, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha was dispatched on a mission to Kompong Speu province in order to represent Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and donate a set of gardening tools offered by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation to Kbal O primary school.

There, in the presence of some of the school’s pupils, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha handed to the teachers and director of the school the whole gardening tools set, including: 6 spades and their removable handles, 6 shovels, 6 hoes, 2 axes and 2 cleavers. Thanks to this brand new equipment, the teachers and students will be able to better maintain their vegetable garden, for which Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha also donated a pack of seeds.

Aware of the usefulness of such donations, which answered their own request, the teachers but also parents of the school’s pupils expressed their very deep gratitude to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation and to its President, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong.

En présence d’élèves de l’école primaire, Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha a ainsi remis au corps enseignant et au directeur de l’école un set complet d’outils comprenant : 6 houes et leurs manches amovibles ; 6 pelles ; 6 bêches ; 2 haches et 2 couperets. Grâce à ce matériel neuf, les enseignants et élèves pourront mieux entretenir les cultures du jardin potager de l’école pour lequel Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha a en outre remis des graines.

Due to Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong’s recent hospitalization during more than two months, the Samdech Norodom Racvivong’s Foundation activities have slowed down and will now progressively start again. Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong would like to take this opportunity to express his renewed most respectful and very deep gratitude to Their Majesties the King Father and the Queen Mother and to His Majesty the King for their continued and generous kindness during this difficult period of time.

Distribution of textbooks in a primary school located in Ta Keo province

On 5 November 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara and the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation went to Ta Keo province to bring their support to Porthiron primary school, located in Tram Kâk district. For more than two years, the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation has already brought assistance to six different schools located in Ta Keo Province (to distribute textbooks or to support the creation of vegetable gardens) to the extent that more demands are now regularly being submitted by other schools. As the Foundation has a philosophy of listening to its beneficiaries’ needs rather than imposing its own programmes, every demand is carefully studied before the President gives an answer, within the limits of available means. Thus, Samdech Preah Mohessara came to meet the teachers and students of Porthiron primary school where he was welcome with the now typical mix of respect and fondness and where he could listen to his hosts’ views, understand their plea and encourage teachers to continue promoting the education policy of the Royal Government with patience and dedication, for the sake of the future generations. After the meeting, Samdech Preah Mohessara proceeded to distribute 440 textbooks covering various topics of all of primary school’s 6 levels: Khmer language, mathematics, applied sciences, social studies… Once the distribution complete, and after the students’ and teachers’ representatives gave emotional allocution of acknowledgement, Samdech Preah Mohessara was invited to visit the vegetable garden of the school, for which he promised to study possible further support in the future. Concluding his visits, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team left their hosts after having promised to come back in the coming months.

Le 5 Novembre 2010 Samdech Preah Mohessara et l’équipe de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong se sont rendus dans la province de Ta Keo pour apporter leur soutien à l’école primaire de Porthiron, située dans le district Tram Kâk. Depuis plus de deux ans, la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong est déjà intervenue à divers titres (distribution de manuels scolaires, appui à la création de jardins potagers…) dans six établissements scolaires de la province de Ta Keo, à tel point que de nouvelles demandes lui sont sans cesse adressées. Préférant comme toujours être à l’écoute plutôt que d’imposer des programmes, la Fondation reçoit et étudie chaque demande avant que son Président ne prenne la décision d’y répondre favorablement, dans la limite des moyens qui sont les siens. C’est ainsi que Samdech Preah Mohessara, accueilli avec un mélange de respect et d’affection bon enfant désormais caractéristique chez ses hôtes, est venu à la rencontre des enseignants et des élèves de l’école primaire Porthiron, pour les écouter exposer leurs situations respectives, s’entretenir avec eux des difficultés auxquelles leur établissement fait face au quotidien, et encourager le corps enseignant à continuer de mettre en œuvre avec patience et détermination la politique d’éducation du Gouvernement Royal afin d’assurer l’avenir de la future génération. Clôturant la réunion, Samdech Preah Mohessara a ensuite procédé à la distribution de 440 manuels scolaires couvrant diverses matières des 6 années du cursus primaire : langue khmère, mathématiques, sciences appliquée, études sociales… A l’issue de cette distribution et des allocutions de remerciement prononcées avec une fervente reconnaissance par les représentants des élèves et des enseignants, Samdech Preah Mohessara a été invité à visiter le jardin potager de l’école, pour lequel il a promis d’étudier des possibilités d’aide supplémentaire à l’avenir. Terminant sa visite, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe ont quitté leurs hôtes non sans leur avoir promis de revenir dans les mois qui viennent.

Donation of a set of gardening tools to a primary school located in Kompong Speu province

On 8 November 2010, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha, representing Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, undertook a mission to Kompong Speu province in order to donate to Preah Sraè primary school a set of gardening tools offered by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation. Thanks to these new tools, the students and teachers of Preah Sraè primary school will be able to better maintain their vegetable garden which Samdech Preah Mohessara and the French Ambassador had visited on the occasion of a previous trip, in July 2010, when the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s President had offered a water pump to the school. It is therefore with genuine cheerfulness that the Preah Sraè primary school students and teachers received a complete set of gardening tools from Mr. Sambath Sokha, including 6 spades and their removable handles, 6 shovels, 6 hoes, 2 axes, 2 cleavers as well as a pack of seeds.

Aussi, c’est avec une joie non dissimulée que les élèves et les enseignants de l’école Preah Sraè ont ainsi reçu des mains de M. Sambath Sokha 6 houes et leurs manches amovibles, 6 pelles, 6 bèches, 2 haches, 2 couperets, ainsi qu’une petite quantité de graines pour les cultures.

Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha, a dedicated member of the Foundation, dies

The Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation has the sad duty to inform about the death of Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha, one its most active members. A long and trusted collaborator of Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha had several times represented the President of the Foundation while visiting schools for donations. He was more especially in charge or printing the Newsletter for the primary school and of preparing missions to the country side. Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha will be truly missed.

Disparition de Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha, un précieux collaborateur

La Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a la douleur de faire part du décès de Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha, l’un de ses membres les plus actifs. Fidèle collaborateur de très longue date de Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha avait plusieurs fois représenté le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong au cours de missions en province pour offrir des dons aux écoles primaires. Il était notamment chargé de l’impression de la Lettre d’Information pour les ecoles primaries et la préparation des missions en province. Monsieur Nhem Sambath Sokha sera particulièrement regretté.

Distribution of textbooks at Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School

On 30 October 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong and his team paid a visit to Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School, located in Baty district, Ta Keo province, in order to hand out textbooks, thus answering a request made by the school to the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation.

For this first visit in the Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong and his collaborators were greeted by numerous students as well as by the director and teachers who all welcomed them.

As usual, the President of the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation started by discussing the state of the school with his hosts before proceeding with the distribution of textbooks. The Prince thus handed out to the students a total of 440 textbooks including: 120 manuals of Khmer language covering Primary School Year 1 to Year 6; 120 manuals of mathematics for Primary School Year 1 to Year 6; 120 manuals of social studies for Primary School Year 3 to Year 6; 80 manuals of sciences for Primary School Year 3 to Year 6; 20 manuals of social studies and applied sciences for Primary School Year 1 and 20 manuals of social studies and applied sciences for Primary School Year 2.

The young students joyfully received these textbooks from Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong who thereafter agreed to stand amongst the director, the teachers and students of Hun Sen Prey Chea Primary School for the traditional photography session.

Concluding the visit, the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation team bade farewell to their hosts and left to return to Phnom Penh.

Donation of a water pump to the Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School

On 8 November 2010, Mr. Nhem Sambath Sokha, representing Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, undertook a mission to the Kompong Speu province in order to donate to Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School a water pump offered by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation.

The Hun Sen Veang Chas Primary School has been supported for the past two years by the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation which has donated more than 700 textbooks to the school since 2008. Thanks to this latest contribution which answered a request made by the director and teachers during an earlier visit by Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, the school will able to better manage its water, a rare but necessary resource in rural areas.

When receiving the water pump from the representative of Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, the school’s director expressed his deep appreciation for the Samdech Norodom Racvivong Foundation’s support over the past two years.

Le 30 octobre 2010, Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong et son équipe ont rendu visite à l’école primaire Hun Sen Prey Chea située dans la province de Ta Keo (district de Baty) pour y effectuer une distribution de manuels scolaires, répondant ainsi à une demandée déposée par l’établissement auprès de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong.

Pour leur première visite dans cet établissement, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong et ses collaborateurs ont été accueilli par de nombreux élèves venus leur souhaiter la bienvenue en compagnie de leur directeur et des enseignants.

Comme à son habitude, le Président de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a d’abord discuté avec ses hôtes des la situation générale de l’établissement avant de procéder à la distribution de manuels scolaires. Le Prince a ainsi remis aux élèves un total de 440 manuels scolaires couvrant les besoins de l’écoles en matière d’enseignement primaire soit : 120 manuels de langue khmères de la 1ère à la 6ème année, 120 manuels de mathématiques de la 1ère à la 6ème année, 120 manuels d’études sociales de la 3ème à la 6ème année, 80 manuels de sciences de la 3ème à la 6ème année, 20 manuels d’études sociales et de sciences appliquées de 1ère année et 20 manuels d’études sociales et de sciences appliquées de 2ème année.

C’est avec grande joie que les élèves ont reçu ces manuels des mains de Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, lequel s’est ensuite prêté à la traditionnelle séance de photo souvenir entouré des nombreux élèves, du directeur et des enseignants de l’école primaire Hun Sen Prey Chea.

A l’issue de la visite, l’équipe de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong a repris le chemin de la capitale après avoir pris congé de ses hôtes reconnaissants.

Don d’une motopompe à l’école primaire Hun Sen Veang Chas

Le 8 novembre 2010, M. Nhem Sambath Sokha, représentant de Samdech Preah Mohessara NORODOM Chakrapong, a effectué une mission dans la province de Kompong Speu pour remettre à l’école Hun Sen Veang Chas une motopompe offerte par la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong.

L’école primaire Hun Sen Veang Chas bénéficie depuis deux ans du soutien de la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong qui lui a déjà fourni plus de 700 manuels scolaires. Avec cette nouvelle donation, qui répond à une demande formulée par le directeur et ses enseignants lors d’une précédente visite, l’école pourra mieux gérer son utilisation de l’eau, une denrée rare et nécessaire en zone rurale.

Recevant la motopompe des mains du représentant de Samdech Preah Mohessara, le directeur de l’établissement a exprimé sa très profonde reconnaissance à la Fondation Samdech Norodom Racvivong pour son soutien constant au cours des deux dernières années.
